On Thursday March 5, 2020, Professor Paschalis Androudis of the Department of History and Archeology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and researcher Stella Sylaiou conducted an on-site research / inspection of the Ottoman bath, mosque and inn at Apollonia, municipality of Volvi.
They met and discussed with the President of the Apollonia community, Mr. Dimitris Charpouzanis, about the efforts made so far to promote the site. Furthermore, they found that extensive work was carried out – with respect to the monuments and under the supervision of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Thessaloniki – on the cleaning of these buildings and their surroundings, from vegetation with the care of Mr. Charpouzannis and in cooperation with the Municipality of Volvi.
